Question
My moms Ipod just quit working, how do I fix it?
ok so it is lit up and there is the on there, it has earphones connected but nothing is playing and nothing is working, i tried hooking it up to the computer but nothing will work. it isnt on hold or anything
Answer
ok straight from apple support information... step one make sure the hold button is turned off, look for a slide switch either by the headphone jack, or the long slot at the bottom of the ipod. then hold the center button along with the menu button. both together for about seconds.br the screen should go dark then blank then after few moments an apple logo should appear.br this is called restarting or rebooting the ipodbrif that does not fix it. then press same buttons same way again but when screen goes dark, switch to center button and the play button hold for seconds. A check mark should appear. this is known as disk mode, at this point make sure you have the current software on your computer, does not matter if PC or Mac.brwww.apple.comitunes download the current version or update the version you have.brafter update, then plug in ipod like normal. the check mark should still be on screen, if your computer works right itunes will see the drive.brthen click on the ipod in itunes window.brbrMAKE SURE THE MUSIC IS ALREADY SAVED TO THE COMPUTER BEFORE NEXT STEPbrbrthen click summary, then click restore. This will ERASE the ipod, when that finishes click Sync and all the music you had selected before will be copied back to the ipod.brbrif all of this has failed please go to your nearest apple store and have a mac specialist take a look at it.
